The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) 2024 to recruit 827 Medical Officers in various central government organizations.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the UPSC CMS 2024 exam, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Education
- Passed MBBS degree from a recognized university in India or completed the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 internship. Final year MBBS students can also apply.

- Maximum 32 years as on 2nd August 2024.

Selection Process
Stages of Selection
The UPSC CMS selection process consists of two stages:
- Written Examination (500 marks): Two papers of 250 marks each conducted in online mode. The exam tests the candidate’s knowledge of medical science and aptitude.
- Personality Test (100 marks): Qualified candidates from the written exam are called for the interview round to assess their personality, logical thinking and decision-making skills.
The final merit list is prepared based on the total marks obtained in the written exam and personality test.
