Selection Process

Medical Standards

  • Height: Minimum 157 cms. Height standards may be reduced by up to 05 cms for candidates from certain regions.
  • Chest: Well-proportioned with minimum expansion of 5 cms.
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age +10% acceptable.
  • Hearing: Normal.
  • Tattoo: Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body except certain concessions for tribal areas and tattoos on the inner face of forearms and the reverse side of the hand.

Training

The basic training for Navik (General Duty) and Yantriks will commence tentatively in early/mid-April 2025 at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training in allotted trades. Candidates are liable to be discharged if their progress or conduct is unsatisfactory at any stage during training.

General Instructions

  • Candidates should not have been arrested, convicted, or have pending criminal cases.
