Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- A citizen of India.
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently.
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, intending to settle permanently.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- A three-year diploma in a relevant engineering stream such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, etc.
- A Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in a relevant engineering stream.
- For Junior Engineer (IT), qualifications such as B.Sc. (Computer Science), BCA, B.Tech (Information Technology), or equivalent.
- For Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA), a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with at least 55% marks.
Age Limit
As of January 1, 2024:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 33 years
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC-Non-Creamy Layer: 3 years
- Ex-servicemen: Up to the extent of service rendered plus 3 years
- PwD: 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST candidates
