Eligibility Criteria for Agniveer Vayu Selection Test 2024

Age

  • Candidates must be born between 3 July 2004 and 3 January 2008 (both dates inclusive).
  • The upper age limit on the date of enrolment should be 21 years if a candidate clears all selection stages.

Marital Status and Pregnancy

  • Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
  • Candidates must remain unmarried during the four-year engagement period.
  • Female candidates must undertake not to get pregnant during the engagement period. Pregnancy will lead to discharge from service.

Educational Qualification

For Science Subjects

  • Option 1: Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and English with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Option 2: A three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Option 3: A two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects like Physics and Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

For Other Than Science Subjects

  • Option 1: Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent in any stream/subjects with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • Option 2: A two-year Vocational Course with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Medical Standards

  • Height: Minimum height for male candidates is 152.5 cm, and for female candidates, it is 152 cm. Height relaxation is provided for candidates from North East, Uttarakhand, and Lakshadweep.
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
  • Chest: Minimum chest circumference for males is 77 cm with a 5 cm expansion, and for females, the chest should be well proportioned with a minimum expansion of 5 cm.
  • Hearing and Dental: Candidates should have normal hearing and a good set of teeth with at least 14 dental points.
  • Visual Standards: Visual acuity of 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye. Candidates should not have undergone corneal surgery.

Other Criteria

  • Candidates must not have any permanent body tattoos except for specific permissible areas.
  • Consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances is strictly prohibited.
  • Sikh candidates are allowed to retain beards and moustaches as per their religious practices.

Terms and Conditions

  • Engagement Period: Agniveervayu will be enrolled for four years under the Air Force Act 1950.
  • Post-Service Opportunities: Up to 25% of each batch may be enrolled in the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force based on performance and organisational requirements.
  • Training: Military training will be provided based on Indian Air Force requirements.
  • Leave: 30 days annual leave and sick leave based on medical advice.
  • Pay and Benefits: Monthly pay starting at ₹30,000 with annual increments. Additional allowances and a one-time Seva Nidhi package of approximately ₹10.04 lakhs after 4 years.

Monthly Package Details

  • 1st Year: ₹30,000 per month (₹21,000 in hand, ₹9,000 contributed to Agniveers Corpus Fund)
  • 2nd Year: ₹33,000 per month (₹23,100 in hand, ₹9,900 contributed to Agniveers Corpus Fund)
  • 3rd Year: ₹36,500 per month (₹25,550 in hand, ₹10,950 contributed to Agniveers Corpus Fund)
  • 4th Year: ₹40,000 per month (₹28,000 in hand, ₹12,000 contributed to Agniveers Corpus Fund)

At the end of four years, the total contribution in the Agniveers Corpus Fund will be approximately ₹10.04 lakhs.

Documents Required

During online registration, the following documents must be uploaded:

  1. Class 10th/matriculation passing certificate
  2. Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent marks sheet
    • OR three years Engineering Diploma Final Year Marks sheet
    • OR two years Vocational Course marks sheets
  3. Higher education Qualification/Additional skill certificates, if any
  4. Passport size recent colour photograph (taken not before June 2024)
  5. Candidate’s left hand thumb impression image
  6. Candidate’s signature image
  7. Candidate’s parent’s (Father/Mother) / Guardian’s signature image (if the candidate is below 18 years on the date of filling the online application).

Selection Process

Phase I: Online Test

  • Science Subjects: 60 minutes covering Physics, Mathematics, and English.
  • Other Than Science Subjects: 45 minutes covering English and Reasoning & General Awareness.
  • Combined Subjects: 85 minutes covering all the above subjects.
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for correct answers, 0.25 marks deduction for wrong answers.

Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Adaptability Test

  • PFT-I: 1.6 km run within 7 minutes for males and 8 minutes for females.
  • PFT-II: Includes push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
  • Adaptability Test-II: Assesses candidates’ adaptability to military life.

Phase III: Medical Examination

  • Comprehensive medical examination including baseline investigations such as blood tests, chest X-ray, and ultrasound for female candidates.

Application Process

  1. Online Registration: Visit official website and fill out the online application form.
  2. Required Documents: Upload necessary documents like educational certificates, photographs, and thumb impressions.
  3. Examination Fee: Pay the exam fee of ₹550/- plus GST online.
